Hey There, Book Lover!

Hi, I'm James Heare,

I write stories for children that gently remind them they are enough—just as they are.

Many of my stories begin in quiet moments: a child wondering if they measure up, a small act of kindness, or the simple comfort of being seen. I’m drawn to those spaces where children—and the adults reading with them—can explore courage, kindness, and self‑worth in a way that feels honest and lasting.

By day, I work in healthcare leadership, where I spend my time supporting teams and helping others succeed. That work has shaped the way I see the world, and it carries into my writing. I’ve come to believe that the words we share—especially with children—can shape how we see ourselves and each other.

I live in Indiana and love spending time reading with children and coaching youth robotics. Those experiences remind me how naturally curious, thoughtful, and capable kids already are.

Because some stories aren’t meant to change who we are—
they’re meant to help us see ourselves more clearly.
